A TRUE STORY

"Our Cattery was designed after careful consideration when my own two cats went through a terrifying boarding experience at a local cattery  not far from Maitland, which still trades to this day and has not changed.  Both our cats ended up in veterinary care for several days after I collected them from that cattery. They contracted Cat Flu (even though they were fully vaccinated.) They were stressed as a result of  being confined in a small cubical and intimidated by other cats next door. There they were propped up like dolls on a shelf looking at 4 walls"   14 years later, when we decided to open our property and our ideas to the public and board cats for others, we knew we could build a better cattery, something that simply was not out there. It needed to work for the cats, one that was stress free and natural in its design as cats are inquisitive yet private people. It needed to also provide a safe and hygienic environment that could be kept very clean. Cats like to be higher than people, so it needed to not be restricted by a ceiling nor by walls. The result was something so radically different - but simple

• Each Cat Park has its own private tunnel & sleeping igloo inside the building with warm and clean bedding provided.

• The complex is Nestled Amongst Shaded Gardens, Fountains & Bird Baths, Adjacent to the Residence. 

• Cats may come in and out of their accommodation as they please without restriction, creating interest for the cats.

• Each guest has a comfortable, separately constructed igloo located inside the main building for a cosy nights sleep.

• Our Cattery is a unique system of indoor/outdoor Cat Parks made from durable welded steel and timber.

• This unique design also eliminates intimidation from cat to cat, making for a stress free boarding experience.

• we provide meals, bowls and bedding for the one tariff.

• Pick up and delivery service available to the Hunter area.

• Free pick up in the Maitland area, but must be a minimum stay of 7 days to receive a free pick up.

• Small fee for pick up from Newcastle to cover the cost of fuel.

   

  Please Note:

  We require a current vaccination certificate of F3 or higher for all bookings. 

  Rates are $12 per cat per day which includes bedding and meals

  Second cat per household ( joint share) $10  and  a third cat per household $8

  More than 3 cats - please phone for a special rate.

The Cats Whiskers is not air conditioned which means peace of mind for your cats health.

We feed Purina Pro Plan "Indoor Cat" biscuits

Dine or Whiskas brand soft food is available for cats that do not eat biscuit. Special diets such as Veterinary Prescribed diets must be supplied by the owner at the time of arrival

Cats on medication are catered for.

Bowls are hygienic Stainless steel and not plastic. Fresh water at all times

Litter is cleaned and changed daily.

Distances between cats means that there is no intimidation or stress from a nearby cat. Cats may choose to stay outside all day and come and go at night for that matter with complete safety.

Enclosed tunnels  mean that your cat can make the choice to go inside at will during the day which then adjoins an igloo ( separate sleeping compartment) inside the building and remain totally anonymous. No cat can see any other cat inside the igloo. Each igloo is individual and separate. Carers access the igloo from inside the buildings.

The tunnel and sleeping areas are protected from rain and wind and are draught free.     We aim to meet the highest expectations of our guests and our  customers.                         Our cattery suits outdoor/semi outdoor cats - that love to watch the world and people.
